Work Package One
To coordinate and manage relevant European research expertise and data to address the project objectives
We will build on our managerial structures and processes from three previous European Union funded projects in BIOMED 1 and 2 and Fifth Framework Programme and will comprise central coordination, leadership and methodological support with devolved responsibilities to WP leads to develop and manage the WPs against agreed timelines to achieve the milestones and deliverables laid out.
Nominated WP Board members, selected according to their expertise in the respective field, will develop the WP together with the lead.
This structure will allow each participating centre to have a significant role in leading a WP or being central to its development.
The overall project will be managed by the EIS Management Board (EMB).
On a day-to-day basis, the work will be coordinated in London by the project coordinator, an experienced research manager appointed for the project, who will be accountable to the London Centre Principle Investigators’ Charles Wolfe and Peter Heuschmann.
The roles of the coordinating centre will include:
- Management of WPs
- Communication (email, website)
- Finances
- Production of deliverables
